PHOTOBOOK 2025
These journeys allowed me to pass through different regions. Industrial zones, farmland, construction sites, and expanding cities appear one after another, revealing differences in scale, development, and spatial organization.
The work is not about destinations. I am more interested in the spaces in between, places that are quickly passed through but rarely noticed. The high-speed rail network connects distant regions, yet the landscapes it crosses also quietly reveal the structures that organize contemporary society.
Through repetition and accumulation, the images gradually point toward a world shaped by movement, infrastructure, and power.
Through
Through is a photobook project I made during frequent high-speed train journeys across China over the past few years. All the photographs were taken through the train window while the train was moving at speed.
